IQOS - What Is IQOS?

WHAT IS IQOS?

IQOS uses revolutionary technology that heats tobacco without burning it, giving you the true taste of tobacco with no smoke, no ash and less smell.

IQOS is the result of over $3bn investment and a decade of research on a range of potentially reduced-risk alternatives to cigarettes conducted by more than 430 scientists and experts in our R&D facilities in Switzerland. Over 2.9 million consumers across the globe have already switched to IQOS.

A specially designed tobacco stick is inserted into the IQOS holder which uses a unique heating blade made of gold and platinum coated in ceramic. Specialist electronics control the temperature to ensure there is no combustion.

NO SMOKE

By heating tobacco rather than burning it, IQOS creates tobacco vapour, not smoke.
IQOS vapour dissipates more quickly than cigarette smoke. It does not negatively impact indoor air quality, as proven by international air quality tests and is not a source of second hand smoke.*

NO ASH

Unlike cigarettes, IQOS does not burn tobacco and therefore produces no ash.

LESS SMELL

After using IQOS, the odour left on hands, hair and clothes is significantly less than that left by cigarettes.

IQOS is not risk free. The best way to reduce tobacco related health risks is to quit tobacco use altogether.

PMI study conducted under controlled ISO standards simulating 4 real-world scenarios (e.g., “residential”, “office”, “hospitality” etc.) where the levels of 18 indoor air quality markers including all of the ISO (International Organization for Standardization) defined Environmental Tobacco Smoke (ETS) markers were measured. Second Hand Smoke (known as Environmental Tobacco Smoke) refers to the smoke from burning tobacco products to which a person is unintentionally exposed.

Vape FAQs

All your vaping related questions answered in simple terms.

What is an Ohm (Ω)?

An ohm is the measure of electrical resistance of the coil inside an atomiser or tank. It is normally shown using this symbol - Ω.

What is the difference between MTL & DTL Vaping?

Vaping comes in two varieties: Mouth to lung (MTL) and direct lung (DTL). MTL mirrors the act of smoking a cigarette, whilst DTL resembles the experience of smoking shisha.

MTL vaping tends to be more based around throat hit and less vapour, whereas the DTL vaping is more about thicker cloud and vast flavour.

What are Nic Salts?

Nic Salts, formed by blending nicotine with liquid, result in an e-liquid suitable for vaping. Notably, Nic Salts boast superior bloodstream absorption compared to the distilled nicotine found in standard e-liquid formulations.

What is in Eliquid?

E-liquids typically consist of four primary components: VG (Vegetable Glycerine), PG (Propylene Glycol), flavorings, and often nicotine, although nicotine-free e-liquids are available.

VG and PG are widely utilised in food and pharmaceuticals and are deemed very safe. Within e-liquids, they serve as the foundational ingredients. Nicotine addresses cravings, while flavours enhance the taste of the e-liquid, preventing it from being bland.

When should I change my Coils/Pods?

When you detect a decline in flavour quality or a decrease in vapour output, it's advisable to replace your coil or pod, depending on the type of kit you have.

Pods typically endure around 5 to 10 refills, while coils generally last one to two weeks, depending on usage intensity.
